About the School
Founded in the year 1847, the Lawrence School is said to be the oldest of co-ed boarding schools of the world. It was the British husband-wife duo Sir Henry Lawrence & Honoria Lawrence who established the school with the initial aim to provide education for orphans of English soldiers & poor white kids. Albeit, the famous school today houses students from any strata of Indian society, yet still the institution honors its initial mission by offering deduction in school fees for students from military families.
The CBSE school offers education from class V till class XII. The faculty channel is comprised by both saree clad dignified Madams & respected gentlemen.
The Sanawar academic year has been divided into 2 groups- Spring Term (February 20 till June 15) & Founder’s Term (July 25 to December 11).
Along with its brilliant academic arrangement, The Lawrence School Sanawar also inspires its students to participate in different sports and co-curricular activities. Through the year, the school organizes different seminars and events on various sports, quizzing, debating, camps, educational visits etc. Career counseling and tuition support are also provided by the school. The Lawrence School Sanawar has been divided into 4 houses, such as Vindhya, Siwalik, Nilagiri & Himalaya. The 4 houses contend against each other in various activities like cross-country training, debating, cricket etc.
Being a member of Round Square, Sanawar also takes part in Round Square Conference with other prestigious academic institutions like mayo College, Doon School etc.- for international exchange student program.
